Welcome to the Iron Hill Miniatures blog.

As noted, Iron Hill Miniatures is my effort (via Kickstarter) to create a dwarf community that is centered around a wonderful terrain piece - a Fortified Brewery and Inn.  The brewery is not yet finished because I am looking for some feed back on a few things, like above the gate.  Would you prefer the Brewery to have a protected flat area from which dwarfs could fight or a peaked roof like in the photo on the Kickstarter page?  Second, what little items would you like to see scattered about the Brewery and inside of the Inn?

The model for the Brewery, when available, will be made of a light weight high density foam. Making the Brewery out of high density foam means that you can make it roughly 2 feet by 2 feet and have it weigh about 8 to 10 pounds.  The foam is very durable and very easy to paint.  It can be primed with an automotive sandable primer or with most hobby primers.  And, unlike the insulation foam used by many, this can be super glued, which means that any modifications done to the building by the gamer can be easily glued in place.

In the coming days, I will feature a model done by the same builder as this model.  I will show the finished master of that model and what it looks like in foam and painted.  That model features much of the same rock work around it as will be featured in the Brewery.

Also, I am looking for suggestions for dwarfs that could be found either working at the Brewery or the Inn, or Dwarfs that would be passing by.  Dwarfs that would make good stretch goals and be very interesting to those that collect and game with Dwarfs.

Like I said, I also want to create a Dwarf community around the Inn.  That means I will be having dwarfs that are standing and drinking, sitting at tables, bar maids, bar keeps, as well as travelers (Dwarf adventurers who have come to the Inn for refreshment, rest and shelter.
